Death Stranding Steam



At the tail end of October, we learned that Hideo Kojima’s Death Stranding is coming to PC. The launch won’t be happening until sometime next summer, meaning the game will remain a PlayStation 4 exclusive for half a year or more. While we don’t have a specific release date for the PC version of Death Stranding yet, we did learn some encouraging news about its release over the weekend.

Epic has drawn considerable controversy for its business strategy regarding the Epic Games Store, which involves paying for store exclusives – something that PC players aren’t used to seeing.

Epic’s goal is clearly to grow its userbase quickly, and shelling out cash for exclusives is definitely one way of doing that. A number of high-profile releases have launched as Epic Store exclusives, with one of the most notable being Borderlands 3. In many cases, these are timed exclusivity deals, with developers announcing that their Epic Store-exclusive games will come to Steam later on down the road (generally six months or a year after release).

With Death Stranding, however, it seems players won’t have to worry about that. We’ll be keeping an eye out for more on Death Stranding‘s incoming PC version, and we’ll let you know when Kojima Productions and 505 Games announce a firm release date for it.
